Several thousand people—attorneys, paralegals, IT officers, software sales reps, and more—will be descending on the New York Hilton Midtown from January 30th – February 1st for Legaltech, the must-attend event of the year for professionals operating in the intersection between the legal and technology industries. For the first time, I will be one of them.

If the first two months working here at Exterro have been something like being blasted with the proverbial firehose of information, then I expect that LTNY will be more like standing under Niagara Falls. (Nothing against metro Buffalo, but I’m glad that’s just an awkward metaphor and that the conference is in the city.)

Preparing myself for the trip has been and will be a frantic rush to identify people to talk to, sessions to attend, tech to look at, and think-pieces to write. But the fact of the matter is, this blog is here to serve its readers, not my needs. That’s why we’re planning some fun stuff for Legaltech week.

We’ll be posting daily recaps that gather all the highlights of the event at the end of the day, so whether you can’t make it to all the sessions you want or you couldn’t make it to New York, you’ll be up to date on the trends, tech, and news from the floor.

Even better, we’ll be testing out and deploying a live blogging platform so we can bring you the highlights of the show as they unfold. We’ll be posting key takeaways, quotes, and data from the keynotes and selected panels; short Q&As with attendees; and daily recaps that offer more context and analysis. Best of all, these live blogs will be open for your input—including comments, likes, and polls. We want to hear from you—before and at the event!

We want to be your eyes and ears on the floor at Legaltech, so please drop me a line at tim.rollins@exterro.com to let me know what you’re looking forward to: which panels you plan to attend, any questions you want us to ask (presenters or attendees!), what tech you’re excited to hear about, and whether you’ll be at the show.

And hopefully I’ll see you in New York!
